If your new to this site, then maybe i ought to explain a few things. This site has no really definitive, single, raison d'etre. In fact it probably doesnt have any reason for being at all. Certainly the internet and the WWW would continue to function quite normally without this site and its unlikely anybody is ever going to come to this site and think to themselves "Fuck I feel like a new person now. Angstythink ? has completely changed the way i think. Thanx ExistAngst!". The truth is this site is here for purely selfish purposes, its reason for being has much more to do with me taking from the internet then giving to the internet. I want to make money. I want to unload my petty thoughts and politics on anybody foolish enough to mistake them for intelligent, well reasoned arguments. I want to upload the shit thats passes through my mind on a day to day basis, to the annonymous mass that is the internet. I want to play around with web design and art and sharpen my skills so that one day i might get a real job: making websites instead of kebabs. I want to be real 1337 and show everyone how well i know my way around the internet, so everyone can worship me and tell me just how damn 1337 I am. Not that any of this makes me any different to any of the other webmasters out there, sitting in their basements or bedrooms clacking away at HTML till all hours of the night. Im not unique. I spose the only non-selfish purpose of this site, an i assure u its unintentional, is that it might encourage you to think independantly. Certainly u will find some absolute bullshit littered amoungst these pages. Ideas that don't even represent how or what i think, but merely how i was feeling at the time of writting. Some stuff on this site might not even represent my thinking or my mood. Some stuff might just be in their to decieve people. Sarcastic, hypocritical and satirical remarks will be standard fare. The skill you must learn from perusing this site, is how to discern what is bullshit, and what is even more bullshit. If nothing else, you must unlearn that nasty habit that has developed in us all since the advent of mass information.... the tendancy to trust. I should probably admit some things about the origins of this site. Yes this site is motivated by, and ideas borrowed from, sites like Stile Project, Misanthropic Bitch, Something Awful, Markside et al. The sorts of sites where weird loosers hardcore it up, tell their life story for all to marvel at their looserness and spew forth unqualified, unreasearched opinions about anything, that might pop into their mis-directed, hyper-active, warped minds, untill one day they realise there site is just like everyone elses, and the counter-culture has become the mainstream and their once loyal punters abandon them. Fuck it. I dont care. The truth is everything u c on the internet is regurgitated from other sources. Its a stagnant pool of ideas, where nothing ever mutates into anything new, its just a constant stream of the same ole pop culture stuff, dressed up as something hardcore and original. If u ever find something at this site that lookes like it might be original, its probably something thats been done before, but dressed up differently or spliced with other old ideas. If the whole godamn site looks original then u just haven't been on the internet for long enough. Anyway, put simply this site is the place where i put all the intresting stuff i find on the internet, be a wanky, pretentious (see above where I use a little bit of French), try hard academic by writing about boring wanky stuff and trying to be clever with webdesign and art. If u dont like the site, fine. It wasn't written for your benefit. If it offends u, fuck off. It was probably meant to offend u, u small minded twat. If it intrests u and you think im cool then... bah as if. |
