I got sent an email the other day by some guy wanting to swap links with me. If i close my eyes and let my mind wander a bit i can almost imagine im Stile making and breaking wannabe webmasters with a single link. Dagnammit theres a moth in my room. For some reason I feel sorry for the little under-glorified butterfly. Moths only live for like a few days don't they? And am i now going to drastically shorten that life span just because the little guy is making a distracting noise, bumping into my light fittings? Well... yes. Cause if i don't squash him now, i'll never find him when i'm ready to go to bed, and i will not have some dickhead moth flapping around making noises while i'm trying to sleep.

Fuck i hate DALnet. DALnet host AngstyThink. I use the term host, in the loosest sense of the word. The strictest sense of the word would imply a situation in which i am able to FTP to dalnet and alter my hosted content at any time i please. This is however not the case with DALnet, thus casting a doubt on whether or not they could actually be said to be hosting this site. For the last fortnight i have not been able to FTP into dalnet, to update angstythink. I think maybe DALnet should cut their losses and stop trying to host websites for their users. They should concentrate on trying to host a lag free, split free, IRC network, something that they struggle to do. Help. I need somewhere to host Angstythink. Im afraid that at the moment, i can't afford to pay for hostage so i would be relying on the kindness of anyone out their willing to host Angstythink. On the other hand, i can however assure u that angstythink, won't significantly chew into your bandwidth quota. Im only getting like a dozen hits a day ATM. Hardly the sort of traffic that brings down whole web servers. Anyway, email me if u think u can help and we can work something out. FatherHappy has started his own site. Sweet! About time he had a site to himself. At last he's surrounded only by himself instead of all those unfunny idiots at the Q Files and Survivorer. Its called Lil Cow Poke, a title that i think comes from a name Stefano of AntiHope gave Eli. Even better is that fact, that Eli (he seems to have dropped the FatherHappy handle) is now writing with more intelligence then ever before. In the past he's been more of a witty comentator of happenings in the E/N scene and generally, he just used to make fun of other E/N webmasters. Now he's writing about politics, media etc etc. Definitely an improvement, and probably a smart move because his E/N peers have recourse to resources to fight back. Political and celebrity figures dont. Remember that kids: Make fun of ppl that can't do the same back to you. This is fun. Why should it be so fun but? Because our god damn genes tell us we have to be sexy to be worthwhile. Shoudln't we be able to transend our genes and accept that it really doesn't matter what we look like? Jezzus, listen to me. Im sounding like a frigging ugly person. Which im not i might add, i just think we could all do with a little less narcissism in the world. Having sed that... Go mercilessly judge these ppl. Just as a small addendum to last weeks rant about the American Democracy... Democrats had every right to try to convince punters, that every vote for Ralph Nader is a vote for Dubiya. Bcause its true. In Australia however, we care that our minorities have a say in how the nation is run. So we have preferential voting. Basically preferential voting means that the voters rank the candidates in order of voter preference. If Ralph fans across Americans had of had the chance to vote for Nader as first choice, and Gore as second choice, im sure the majority of them would have done so. Then if as was inevitable, Nader was found to be way out of contention in the race to the White House, all second choices would get counted on ballots where Nader was voted in first place. Consequently u would get a more accurate and fairer picture of whom Americans want to run their country and ppl wouldn't be threatened into voting for one of the major parties and therefore shifting their needs and wants to match those being offered by the major parties. NOTE: In a Democracy, voters influence the policy of Cadidates. In America the policies of Candidates influence the voters: If your not intrested in mindless mass-consumption then dagnammit, get yourself intrested in it because nihilism isn't an option that the wealthy sponsored Republicrats are willing to support. Actually... It does sound like quite alot of work for u Americans. It would involve being rigourous and thorough about your democracy. Not really the american way is it? And if there was only a 50% voter turnout this time round then imagine how few ppl would vote if they knew they had to rank their ballot card in order of prefference! Bah. Too much work eh? Yeah your probably right. Your better off maintaining the status quo where the republicrats aka "Big Buisiness" run the show like some sort of a discretely fascist/capitalist state. P.S. China has a "One Party Rule" governement System. The ppl of China realise this. The USA have a very similar sort of government to that of China. The American ppl dont realise this. So i ask you: Who is better off?
ExistAngst Friday, 1st December 2000	...Dubiya The Hungry Catapillar ate a hole through the American Democracy.
Once Apon a time there was a little prick of a hungry catapillar named Dubiya. On some day Dubiya gobbled up Daddies money and prestige. And Dubiya got fatter. On every other day Dubiya snorted and injected his way though a few pounds of cocaine. On another day, Dubiya made his way though a few bottles of booze. On one day Dubiya got stuck into 117 deathrow prisnors. And Dubiya got bolder and fatter still. On another day Dubiya ate holes through 10,000 Palm Beach ballot cards. And Dubiya got even fatter and bolder still. ... And on every other day Dubiya proclaimed "Thats sublinimal and offensible. I resemble that." ...and after a few years in the highest office in the world that an illiterate Catapillar could ever hope to hold, The American ppl stopped and thought to themselves: "Why the Fucking Hell didnt we think to squash the littler fucker when he was just a shitty little sqishable cattapillar, and not the leader of the Western World" But do u think the fat little president/pupae stopped there? Heeeeelll NO he didn't! On the first day of his Presidency, Dubiya ate big holes though a Bill Of Rights. On the second day of his Presidency Dubiya, ate his way though international security and accidentally launched a few nuclear missiles here and there. On the third day of his Presidency Dubiya went looking for a bevy of intern with a few cigars ... but then realised that there are some things that even Illiterate Cattapillar Presidents can't get. You Americans dont really get the whole democracy thing do you? The whole concept, is not that its not some sort of emergency lifline you pick up in the event that some dumb red-neck, gun loving, despot runs for President (heaven forbid that ever happen eh?). Its something u have to actively make use of if u want to keep it. U can't just let it atrophy away, and expect it to just be there to save you when u REALLY need it. If u let it happen, if u refuse to take an intrest in who runs your country, then democracy will slip your fingers. It starts, with things like being blasč about a few hundred ballot cards in Florida. It doesnt hurt to be rigourous about these things ppl. If Gore wants to have his little recount then let him. Your not the chump thats going to have to recount thousands of ballot cards so why do you care? How can u (as a country) ever lecture the Military Junta in Myanmar or Mugabe in Zimbabwe ever again, if u cant even get it right in your own country. Mind you though, I personally dont give a rats arse who wins. Im over here in Australia, and touch wood, Dubiyas avarice and stupidity can't hurt me over here. In fact i think the next few years will be quite amusing as the world watches Bush out-yeltisn Yeltsin, with a series of drunken, dyslexic, idiotic mistakes. Ive also noticed alot of ppl bitching about the fact that both and Gore and Bush had put forth almost exactly the same set of policies. Alot of ppl have made remarks about Bush and Gore just being different heads to the same monster etc etc. Ive got 2 obesrvations here. The Presidential Race in the American Democracy is winner takes all. There is no proportional representation like there is in Australia, New Zealand or England. Consequently u can't now turn around and bitch when the 2 major parties focus all their attention on that one specific easily identifiable majority group. Furthermore, the minority groups probably make up the 50% that dont vote at all. It makes the policy base with the most potential fairly easy to figure out You Americans are predictable. I can imagine their wouldn't really be any ambigousness when it comes time for the major parties to figure out what will be popular with the voters, so naturally the 2 major parties are going to come to similar conclusions. I spose what im saying, is that you cant blame the Republicans or the Democrats for their identical policy bases. U have to have a good look at your political system, the system that forces the contenders to almost completely converge towards a common policy base, and then consequently battle out the election with silly show biz and irellevant dirty politics.
