Treasurer Peter Costello was injured yesterday in a smirking accident. It is thought he was smirking privately in his office, when an involuntary muscle spasm made it impossible for him to control the smirk and it took over his face, paralysing him.
He was rushed to hospital where doctors used nerve gas to loosen the muscles in his lips and jaw.
"He is recovering. He lost a lot of snot but he's okay", a doctor said. He is said to be in a stable but slightly less snotty condition.
The treasurer seen here with hospital staff after an emergency operation to reverse his smirk injury. Bloody hell, that looks painful!
