Scientists have discovered it is actually Tasmania that is the arse end of the world.
Posted by ExistAngst at April 26, 2004 05:02 PMOh. I wonder what tests they did to work it out?
Posted by Posted By at April 26, 2004 05:18 PMI'm glad you ask.
They discovered that most of the people living in Tasmania are shit.
They therefore surmised that Tasmania must be the arse end of the world.
Posted by ExistAngst at April 27, 2004 04:50 PMThat's not very scientific.
Posted by Posted By at April 30, 2004 11:53 PMI'll scientific your lame asses, now shut the fuck up ;[
Posted by secret pint at May 1, 2004 12:22 AMi had a friend who stayed in argentina for a year and came back with some excellent music. one of the bands she got me into was mana. They're actually from Mexico, but from what she was telling me, they've been on MTV unplugged (and have no english songs) and are pretty big over in the southern americas. they're at www.mana.com.mx
Posted by terry o'fee at May 1, 2004 08:23 PMDear Terry:
A group like Mana is crap, the closest thing I can think of in American music would be something like Creed. I can really understand that if you visit a foreign country for a while, you might not get the same feel and understanding as living in it for a few years. Now, I don't mean to sound snobbish by saying that, what I want to convey is that there is a clear difference in the caliber of music within this forum and the music which is currently spinning on Top Ten radio stations around the world. This is a mostly no nonsense place in which good music is discussed, and to bring a group such as Maná into it is a bit of a let-down. If you are goung to introduce Mexican music I would sugest a Norteño Group such as Los Tigres Del Norte, which has been singing about the struggles of drug smugglers, prostitutes and such for over 25 years. A group like DDT is underground, has integrity, can write good pop melodies and have not sold out, something Maná can't honestly say they are. Don't mean to rain on your parade and I apologize if it seems that way, but a place like this works hard at stamping out mediocrity.

that's alright, even if i think you were a little brash. i havent heard too much myself, and its always good to get a second opinion on music. i happen to like them, but ive never been there and it's also good to get a few new names to put into kazaa as well. danke.

It is pleasing to notice that the arse end of the world has not been forgotten when it comes to the naming of Argentinian bands.
