Luoke% Steele is in fact a honey bee
The Perth rock world was reeling today from the news that Luoke% Steele of popular and influential Perth rock band The Sleepy Jackson is in fact a bee. Luoke%, who recently changed his name from Luke, admitted to straggly haired Perth rock enthusiast Julian Pumpkin, a writer for X-Press, that he is a giant mutant worker honey bee.

Apparently Luoke%, who has previously confessed to Pumpkin that he sleeps in a coffin and owns the remains of the elephant man, was first drawn to becoming a bee when he noticed he enjoyed wearing shirts with horizontal stripes.

"I started doing nectar and I just couldn't stop," he tells Pumpkin in the revealing interview, "and then, after injecting bee DNA into my body, I soon found myself turning into one. These large hairy baskets formed on the backs of my legs, I use them to collect pollen."

Strangely for a honey bee, Steele is not particularly social.

Steele also said that there will be no more Sleepy Jackson albums as he is going to spend most of his time fertilising flowers. "I have this really cool extra stomach, called a honey stomach," he tells rock journalist/sycophant Pumpkin, "which I use to carry nectar back to the nest".

"I'm happy to do the work for now...but I know one day I will be Queen Bee!" The interview comes out in shite street paper X-Press next week.
