Better Than Bose
I recently sold my house and included my Bose Acoustimass 10 speaker system with the media room. I researched for many days and even considered buying another Bose set. After looking at CNET reviews (Bose was not listed in the top 10), I decided to buy the Pro Cinema 800 set. But instead of the 8″ subwoofer I bought the 10″ subwoofer. I bought all the speakers seperately (no cost savings buying the package) including my 10″ Definitive subwoofer. The satellites are a lot bigger than the Bose satellites and this helps them reproduce a fuller spectrum of sound. The sound coming from the Pro 800 are more rich and full. On the top is a passive radiator that works in tandem with the woofer to help radiate lower frequencies (these speakers are acoustically suspended). The stand on the bottom is removable and there is an included plug to cover the mounting hole if you are mounting them on wall mounts (each speaker weighs about 4 pounds). The back has binding post connectors with banana conntor receptacle (female). These speakers definitely out perform my old Bose Acoustimass 10 speaker set and cost about the same. For the money, you can’t go wrong with this set.

Great Speakers and So Small
When these speakers arrived, I somehow felt disappointed. I knew the dimensions before I bought them, but it somehow didn’t hit me until I actually saw them. I even double-checked the speaker label to make sure I didn’t get the wrong speakers by mistakes. Well, after an hour or so to set them up, I was pleasantly surprised by how good they sound. It’s unbelievable such full range sound can come from such small speakers. I watched Kill Bill 1 and listened to some CDs w/o running then Audessy setup and it sounded good. I ran the Audessy setup and listened to other CDs and watched Donnie Darko and it sounded amazing. During some scenes on Donnie Darko where the music was emphasized, I couldn’t believe how enveloping the sound was. Definitely no regrets with these Definitive Tech speakers.

Excellent speakers
I use two 800’s for my rear surround speakers and they don’t disappoint. Excellent sound reproduction and bass output. Better than my old Bose was!

Wonderful, compact speaker
Very satisfied with the sound of these small speakers, and I would consider myself a very discerning audiophile. I combined them with the Pro Sub 800 for a wonderful sound in my home-office. If you listen to classical music, this set-up delivers fantastic value for sound.

Huge setback to wireless technology !
Although it is a good addition to the surround system to avoid running wires through your living room (if bought with the S-Air transmitter), it has one major problem – the device’s signal interferes with my cordless phone and WIFI. Currently I have the device turned off most of the time unless I am having a movie night. On the other hand, the quality of the sound is crisp.

I do regret purchasing the produced but I hope that Sony can come up with another way of connecting the back speaker wirelessly and avoid interfering with cordless phones and WIFI and have it pre-installed with the surround system.

Everything you want it to be and more
I love this kit. The sound quality is top notch and the headphone jack saves me from cables everywhere. I love this.

Sound quality is great, but demands strong bass boost
I was a bit disappointed with the low bass level. I have to boost low frequencies about 8 dB to get them to the proper level. After that I had to adjust the whole equalizer range (by ear) to get a balanced sound. A chart with frequency response would help a lot but I was not able to find it. Anyway, it sounds great, clear.

Great for backgroud mood music in the home
I am convinced that the reviewers calling these “cheap” or “tinny” sounding have never listened to them.

If you want unabtrusive speakers to provide clean and spacious background music with a decent base response these are perfect (Eagles, Carley Simon, Joni Mitchel, Miles Davis etc.) If you want speakers to play at volumes you need to shout over and rattle the fillings out of your teeth (Zep, AC/DC, Sabbath), look elsewhere.

These are perfect if mostly used for providing background mood music in rooms when entertaining, such as for the holidays. We have 2 pair we have been using for 5 years in a 23′x16′ LR and 28′x14′ kitchen and they still sound like new. We are adding a third pair in the dining room and a 4th on the porch.

Well made wall mounts as well.

Very good for surround
The Bose 161s do a very good job as surround speakers for (in my case) a typical sized family room. I’ve used them for several weeks now as side surround speakers. In my setup all of the bass is directed to the two large front speakers and the subwoofer, so the 161s just need to provide clear neutral sounding support – which they do very well.

My order was fulfilled by JR Music (through Amazon) and the speakers were shipped and arrived in a few days with no delays.

These are odd shaped speakers with compound curves. I have my speakers laying on their sides (bookshelf style) and the Bose provided rubber feet to stabilize the speakers were missing from the package. Without the feet, the speakers rock from side to side. I called Bose customer service, and they very quickly and politely handled my call, and sent the rubber feet, express mail at no charge.

Bose 161 are just surround speakers NO MORE
I’ve read some critisism for the Bose 161 speakers at the moment when the reviewers are saying they can’t have enought bass sound, and the same I’m reading for those that are writting about the “cheapper” components for Bose brand with its expensive prices.

Let’s start. The Bose 161 are just surround speakers, that is the fact and don’t search or try to find any kind of deeper bass frequency expecting a BOOM inside them, these little boxes have inside two 2 1/2″ tweeters and so in that way it makes a very firm and strong mid frequency.

To me, Bose are one of the State-of-Art brands who are specialized in speakers for mids and high frequencies with a very reliable wide of clear, shiny and high fidelity sounds, but I must accept Bose haven’t a very reliable subwoofer’s line ’cause I’ve heard most of those subs and it can’t reach the best in deep and power for bass sounds, there are just the perfect company for the small boxes of tweeters and mids but no for truly bass power, neither for home theater experiences specially for that action movies with tons of explotions everywhere.

Back for 161 speakers, I bought them for replacing in my home theater system my old front Technics towers that were more specialized in mids and mid-bass sounds, in the moment of proof the 161 I was totally amazed. For first time I’ve heard the perfect complement for my other speakers (I have two MK rear surrounds, one Boston Acoustics for center and a 12″ Sony sub that shakes the room with very deep and powerful bass as I ever expect), in my Technics amp I could make the proof for movies and music and I’m very happy to say, the 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS sounds never sounded better than ever, and for music I proved with the Esquivel CD “Latin-Esque” (that comes with a large variety of stereo and cuadraphonic changes) and I’m absolutely pleased with the 161 Bose boxes, now I can enjoy incredible high fidelity sound in home without innecesary high volume and any kind of noise, just the necessary to hear the absolute one.

Then, is this technology that can make the Bose 161 sounds in that way “cheap”? Of course no!!! Are many people expecting to find in the Bose line some speakers who came with gold, diamonds and very finest bringing from the Amazon jungle wood boxes? Or is necessary buying more expensive sound systems? I’ve heard Harman Kardon, JBL, Jamo, Infinity, Polk Audio and more speaker brands and Bose is in the same quality level, including MK and Boston Acoustics that are my other speaker brands.

So if you want quality for the correct price, just go for it but, If you are expecting better sound and high fidelity technology for a cheapest price belief me, I can’t recommend nothing. Just try with the Bose 161 and you’ll find high fidelity sounds in the mid-high frequencies, no more.

Nice small speakers
We use these in a professioanl training environment, matched to an 80 watt HK amp. They are the main speakers. They are clean, but not loud enough for our large training room full of people. These would be well served as rear speaking in a 5.1 system or in small rooms where loud volumes are not needed.

The speakers were a bit smaller than I expected. The included brackets were easy to use and are plenty stable.

Overall I am pleased with the quality of the sound of these speakers.

Geat Price, Great Sound and Great for me
First of all I do not really understand why people have to complain about the remote or for any minor short comings this product may have. My experience thus far as been nothing short of stellar. I have been looking for quite sometime for a sound system to install for my tv in my living room. My living room is by no means large but the sound that comes from this product definitely fills the room and then some. You can not find an easier system to hook up. From the box to completion of installation it was a total of 10 minutes and most of that time was spent opening it up. This product is what it is. It is not a $1000 Bose system by any means but for under $300 I could not be any more pleased.

Pretty good sound for a small space
This unit is good for my small space. I have a 2 bedroom condo with the tv area that is open concept to the kitchen. Super easy to connect. I attached it to my playstation 3 and my 46 inch Sharp Aquos. Really good sound, but never a substitute if you want true 7.1 / 5.1 theatre style surround sound – especially in a large family room or home theatre. The subwoofer does provide excellent base and the sound is clear from the speakers on the bar. Perfect for apartments or condos – even a bedroom. You can’t beat the price with amazon on this item.

Great and Simple HDTV Sound Upgrade
We used the Sony HTCT100 as a simple and it turns out – a great upgrade to the sound on a 32 inch HDTV with a Blueray DVD player. The TV sits in a large bonus room over a garage. The sound fills the room in 5.1 channel sound. We no longer use the TV sound which was barely adequate. The HDMI connections to the unit and then the TV are all that were needed. It comes with one HDMI cable, all you need purchase is a single HDMI cable (buy an inexpensive one online). If you are not a surround sound purest, and you can’t be bothered with wiring and positioning multiple speakers in a room, this is it. The sound from the sub woofer gives great room filling base and the sound bar gives it the depth that 2 channel can’t provide. If you have an optical connection on your TV, it also makes 2 and 5.1 broadcast/HD/cable TV sound many times better. The optical cable is also provided with the unit to do that. No optical connection? Two channel speaker connections are available, for which you will need a standard left/right speaker cable – It’s still many times better than those TV speakers for TV sound.

Great value for smaller rooms
If you have a smaller room (10 x 15),and have issues with running wires, the HTCT 100 is an excellent system and value. It will never replace a true 5 speaker 1,000 watt system. The sound quality is very good and priced very well.

Works for us
Sometimes you just want enhanced sound without the living room clutter of speakers and wires. This system does the trick. We put the sound bar in the wall unit, so only the subwoofer is not encased. If you are looking for real surround sound, keep looking. If pseudo surround sound with capabilities to tailor the sound to the type of entertainment you are watching is what you want and you want it at a very affordable price, than you will be very happy with the Sony Sound Bar. The delivery was as expected, no problems.

Ok speakers for the price
These speakers are ok, not great. They don’t have good bass response and sound a little “tinny” if that’s a technical term. They just don’t wow you. The mounting kit was great. We’ll see how they last in the Colorado weather.

For the money, I’d probably step up to the Polk outdoor speakers. I have them in my home theater and have always loved them. Should have gone with my gut and spent a little more.

Good value
These are a good value for about $80. They’re well packed with good mounting hardware and sound fine for the outside patio.

Great speakers
Installed a pair at the rear of my sailboat on the radar arch. Great sounds. With XM radio (digital) I found myself looking for the alarm that was going off. It was music inaudible with other speakers I’ve owned for the last 50 years. But it was a great vacation on the boat this month, and these speakers added to the fun.

Good speakers for price
Have had these speakers for two years now and they still sound great. I have them on my deck and around my pool and they still sound as good as when I bought them. Would recommend them

Excellent speakers!
We are simply thrilled with these speakers! They arrived quickly, in perfect condition and were very easy to install. The sound is fantastic, and a great value for the price. We installed them in our screened porch and love the way they tilt if you want to direct the sound in a certain direction. They also have safety clips so that if they were to fall off (which they don’t seem like they will because they are firmly mounted), they wouldn’t crash down on someone’s head. I was very pleased that they came in white because they blend in nicely, having both a great appearance and great sound.

It’s good, but would like some things different
I have a Sony VGN-FW465, and a Nokia cell phone both with blue tooth capability. Havn’t tried the phone yet, but it sounds great with my laptop. I followed the directions and paired the two then set the sound default to the “Blue tooth headset” If you have audio going you must close it then reopen for it to switch to the new device. Again though once set up sounds great. Very clear and rich for a 30 watt speaker-box. My one complaint is that the the AVRCP (remote volume control) for this unit is not supported by my computer. Since it doesn’t come with a remote I have to turn it up and down with the button on top manually.

On a side note I am not sure why battery life is a measurable attribute on here. the device comes with a 12v adapter, but does not run on batteries.

Somewhat disappointed
I bought this speaker because it was supposed to be Bluetooth compatible. I have had no luck connecting via Bluetooth to my Sony VGN-FW series laptop.

Every indication is that the speaker/laptop are paired, yet have not been able to get ANY sound from the setup. I can however get diminished sound if I hardwire the speaker to my headphone jack on the laptop.

Great Product
I purchased this Sony Speaker for my bakery so my wife and i could listen to music linked to my cell phone. Linked to the phone the bluetooth connection is flawless and easy. Sound reproduction is very good for such small drivers. Bass is as expected not great. For the 80ish dollars I spent I was, and am very pleased.

However, when linked to my laptop for Media Player use or internet radio there is an irritating linking issue. Difficult to link occasionally this way.

For use with a phone/media device Great!!!

I love it when it works
I love the concept of this (listening to streaming news in my room while my PC is in my office) however my computer can’t decide which to use — my larger speakers connected to my computer via headphone jack or the bluetooth speaker. Now, nothing works. It’s very annoying and I cannot figure out how to make the bluetooth work. It’s receiving the signal from the PC, it’s enabled and it’s selected in the “sounds” section of control panel. Just no sound is coming from it. It works with my phone too, but the PC is far more complicated for some reason. I’ve tried another laptop to no avail..all sony products. very odd that sony has created something that does not automatically sync with a sony PC.

Fits My Needs Perfectly
I use this speaker in the kitchen so my (or my friends) portable music players can plug in or my laptop (or my wifes) can stream music directly. Either way it suits my needs very well, flexible and simple. The sound is good and the bluetooth hookup was very simple.

I have a single complaint – it does not remember its volume setting between power cycles. I have to turn the volume up every time.

Besides my single complaint I have been very satisfied with this bluetooth enbled speaker and recommended it.

Astounding Sound!
I set these up as part of my whole house sound system. I am using them in some large rooms as both main speakers and as surround rear speaker. I also have them in a very large 3 car garage in the ceiling.

I have other brands that I am using in other places which makes it easy to evaluate the difference. These speaker produce an amazing sound, filling the room with sound that seems to come from walls and areas where there are no speakers. The Bi Polar technology does wonders! I now wish I had used them everywhere. The sound experience is so much better. Usually I take my friends to the garage to demonstrate the fabulous sound even in an area that is know for great acoustics. The smile that comes on their face when they hear the sound tells it all!

Outstanding sound… if you don’t have an iPhone
This has to be the best speakers I’ve used in my life aside from one issue that it picks up the bleeps from my iPhone too easily! CA, *FIX THIS* and you’ll have my undying loyalty forever.

I’m giving this unit 5 stars for the sound quality. You see after replacing this unit with a similar but more expensive 3 piece unit from Logitech, I can say with confidence that this sounds FAR superior. The subwoofer really produces deep rich thumping sound, compared to a muddy sound produced by the Logitech. When I watch movies on Hulu, it almost feels like I’m watching it on a much higher priced home theatre speakers (mostly because of the outstanding bass). I’m floored how they achieved this in such a small package.

But alas I had to abandon this unit because of my allegiance to the iPhone (unfortunately). The iPhone produces more interference than ANY phone I’ve had and its interaction with the speakers drove me stark crazy.

So if CA came out a shielded version, and even if they added 10 bucks to it… I’ll buy it in a heartbeat!

You get what you pay for
I brought this a while ago. It still barely works. It has a short in it but even before the short, it was a horrible choice. I mean if you want something cheap and loud go for it. But these speakers pick up interference from EVERYTHING electronic. (The noise it makes is annoying) –me and my roommate made a game out of it every time it buzzes we know one of our phones is going to ring-. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy this. Not a good deal.

Best 3″ Sub-Woofer For Twice the Price
After trying 5 different 2.1 speakers, these are by far the best for under $30. There is no sub-woofer this small (3″) that sounds this good. I am a fidelity freak and use these at work for 8 hours a day for over 14 months now. You won’t find a smaller set of speakers that sound this great, for the budget listener. Any tone adjustment you can make will make these sound even better. I use them to listen to online radio, then plug into my MP3 player and even into the headphone jack on a cheap radio and it all sounds GREAT! 15 watts is enough for most purposes.

Superb Speaker
People are saying bad things about these speakers, and I can’t understand it… these are superb speakers.

The subwoofer offers true bass, and really awesome sound quality.

But one of the reasons I’m saying so many good things is because I have a very little brother, and he happened to chew on the wire.

Yes, the main wire that inputs sound into the speakers from the computer. He chewed on it, and it was exposed and pretty terrible looking.

However: The speakers still worked. The only problem was the left speaker doesn’t work right, but c’mon, the wire was CHEWED on, what can’ya expect?

The speakers are still being used, and provide superb quality for such a low price.

My next speakers will most likely be a Cyber Acoustics Speaker.

Nice system for the money
Nice sounding system for a little bit of money. Diminutive speakers. No tone control. Bass distortion when played at high volume, but all can be overlooked when the price is considered. I give it a thumbs up.

Great Speakers for book shelf or home theater.
The best book shelf speakers that I ever owned. I was so impressed that I bought a pair to use as the real channel speakers on my home theater. They have crisp clear sound.

have been using these speakers (bought 4 for my surround sound) for about a month. they perform better than expected. excellent value for the price.

Excellent Rears for 5.1 or 7.1 setups
Produces lots full sound for rear channels. Can be mounted in most any position to give that custom installed look. Had expensive B&W 805’s for rears and decied to move the 805s to front for another seperate room setup. Put these in place and did not notice a change at all. Thundering choppers flying from front to rear still sound great. Also handles the subtle sounds of crickets in the outdoor scenes very cleanly. No need to spend more on super expensive rears — save the money for your center speaker of big subwoofer. Great performance and good value.

A great low priced set of speakers.
I walked in magnolia and was pretty much looking for a bookshelf set of speakers, the ones I liked were $700 to $1500, that was not an option for me, considering this is a secondary system in the house and dropping some coin on the 46” lcd left me with wanting to take it easy on my wallet for a while. Also the tv is in an unusual corner and mounting it to the wall is not an option,hense my several pairs of floor speakers are just too tall.

After listening to all these high end book shelf speakers, I decided that I would still need a subwoofer at least $300 to $800. I then recalled polk audio sold at some high end music stores as there low end speakers. I asked to listen to some after reading alot of good reviews. I liked how much base the book shelf speakers had and loved the price, but the midrange was a little weak. Then listened to the OWM3’s $200 and liked the fact there was more mid range, than the polk book shelfs and were smaller.

These have very little base so I added a polk psw111 8” 300w subwoofer $300 and they sound great together. For movies a polk front center speaker is next on my list along with two more OWM3’s for rear sound since the rear walls workout.

These speakers can put out the sound in a medium to small sized, need a center speaker for movies in my opinion.

Love the speakers
Love the speakers. My granddaughter wanted a big stereo system in her bedroom but since her room is so small, that was not feasible. I purchased the speakers hopeing it would satisfy her need to listen to her favorite songs without taking up so much space. She loves the sound and no longer asks for the larger system. She also loves the fact she can just fold it up and stick it in her overnight bag when staying with friends. My only complaint now is she turns it up so loud, it drowns out anything I may be listening to in another room.

After hearing how much she enjoyed the gift, I also purchased two more for my other grandchildren.

Great for “easy” listening.
These are just the thing for easy listening while reading, at the computer, just relaxing with background music, etc. They are NOT to be used at full volume (nor is any speaker system) or to the point of distortion. Those that report a problem with static and crackling should check the mini-jack connecting cord (usually the problem with this type of complaint). These speakers are wonderful for traveling and we have used them with rechargable AA batteries in excess of 20 hours and they were still going strong. We are buying a second one because of traveling (afraid of damage) AND before they are off the market for something newer and/or more expensive.

Wonderful value… battery life is incredible
I bought this because I wanted a portable way (no plugs) to listen to my iPod during a trip with my family this past spring. For the price, this product served its purpose well, and was far more reliable than the car adapter that I paid a lot more money for. Granted, the speaker sound isn’t the highest quality, but for the price, it sounds very good.

I give this product a five star rating because it is VERY good at doing what it was designed for: providing a highly portable, budget-friendly system to play an iPod. I also wish I could give it a higher than 5 star rating, because it has been a godsend over the past month while my daughter has been hospitalized.

My daughter was intubated (due to tumor compression of her airway), and later placed on a tracheostomy and ventilator. Throughout our stay at the hospital, we have been using our Colby speakers and iPod, creating a more soothing, homelike atmosphere with music. During this month of 16 hour plus daily use, we have only had to change the batteries on these speakers ONCE (It takes four AA batteries, which makes battery changes easy, when they do need to be changed)

Nurses, respiratory therapists, and doctors have all commented about how relaxing our room feels, because of the music we are able to play.

The speakers are very simple. There is a nesting spot for the iPod, but it plays using a chord connection, just like how you would connect regular headphones to an iPod. It is one of the best purchases I have made.

Not what you see
iPod does not sit on stand because you have to plug in to bottom of iPod. Would not recommend to anyone. You will find out how good Amazon’s return policy is.

Poor Sound Quality
I bought these for my daughter because of the great reviews they received. We were very disappointed with the sound quality. If we turn the volume up higher than 1/4 way up the lever there is a terrible buzzing sound. I thought we just got a defective product so I had Amazon exchange them for a new pair. These sound just as bad out of the box as the original set. I am going to return them. I do not have experience with any other portable MP3 Player speakers so maybe these got great reviews because the others are all worse.

Great for Car Audio Books
I bought this because I can never get the ones that go through the car stereo to work well. I have the hearing of an old lady and really found these to be wonderful. The only problem is finding a way to have them stay put (I wrap around shoulder strap). They are loud enough for both male and female narrators, and they don’t seem to run the battery down on my iPod any faster than usual.

It’s cute, not loud enough for classic music, good for its price.
I know you can’t expect home stereo quality from this tiny speaker, but I wish it could be at least louder than my laptop. It seems loud enough when I play audiobooks and pop music. But when I use it to play classic music, even the relativaly loud piece like four season, it just doesn’t sound any louder than my laptop speaker, which is a bit disappointing.

It’s definitely not for playing music when you are working around a big room. Studio maybe. I use it on my desk when I was working on my computer.

Overall, it’s cute, very cute. It’s the size of two compact makeup powder. For this price and the convenience of not using batteries, I’m not complaining too much.

Just right for me
These are handy little speakers. They don’t require any power so I can use them anywhere. They’re sturdy, have decent quality sound, and offer a fair amount of volume without distortion. I’m happy with them and have no complaints.

They aren’t an audiophile’s dream, but they’re great for the price.

I like it
Small enough to carry around and the sound is good enough to be heard clearly with traffic noise. Great buy for the money.

Who cares if they are pink!
I bought these speakers because I could no longer stand using a FM transmitter to listen to my ipod through my car radio. (I had to keep changing stations as I moved into different locations. This can be dangerous while driving…) This speaker is perfect for listening to my audiobooks. The sound is loud enough to hear over the noise outside of the car (windows closed of course) and during a family trip even those in the back seat listened in. I now carry the speakers around with me when I don’t want to use headphones but still want to hear my stories. Great deal for such a low price.

Boston Acoustic Soundware Speakers
It took me a while to find the right set of speakers that wuold drive a common area in the basemant that we just finished. As I spent a good amount of money in the home theater section of the basemant I wanted something more economical for this area. At a $100 list price and $80 purchase price these speakers are great. The mounting mechanism allowed me to put 2 in the corner of the room and the other 2 in the face of an area where I needed them. Once I made the right adjustments on the receiver (lowered the treble, increased the bass) the sound is really good for a set of speakers in this price range.

great sounding speakers
I actually tested these in Circuit City and they sounded great then. I bought them here due to the price difference. For the price, these are a great deal and they were easy to install.

Perfect in my backyard
Okay this is my first ever Amazon review. I first bought one at Frys just to see if this was what I was looking for and between the install and set up it hit the mark, replacing a 20 or even 30 year old speaker (anything would be a upgrade from there). Got the second from here and since I still have more power going out to the backyard I am about to buy two more.

Great Look, just OK sound.
These “anywhere” speakers look great on our bookshelf, but clearly suffer from their small size. The bass effect is weak at best. We got them at less than list price, so I guess they were a decent buy. However, at full price they just don’t deliver the quality I would expect.

Outstanding Quality, Versatile, Trouble Free 4.5 stars

I bought these speakers several years ago to be used as outdoor wall-mounted speakers. They worked out very well for almost a year outside before I took them down and brought them inside due to noise ordinance issues. The sound outside was very good, and handled medium to medium-loud volumes without any trouble, even with the speaker wire running perhaps 40-50 feet. Mounted outside, these speakers dispersed sound very well and I was often asked where the speakers were because the sound seemed to be all around.

I pretty much forgot about these speakers for a few years, and then found myself needing a set of speakers since my son took mine for his room. I dug these out and hooked them up and was surprised at the quality. I wasn’t expecting much from a set of indoor/outdoor bookshelf speakers but these exceeded my expectations. I pulled off the grill and looked at the speaker components, and everything was in tip-top shape and very high quality.

These speakers handle mid-range exceptionally well, especially voices, drums, and guitars. Also, even with the volume turned up extremely high the sound remains clear and strong, with little detectable distortion.

Although these handle the higher notes found in classical music very well, they sound very directional due to the small size.

Bass handling was acceptable, but these speakers would benefit from a subwoofer if your music has a lot of bass.

Overall, for bookshelf speakers, these are very impressive for a wide range of musical tastes. I would recommend these if you need indoor/outdoor speakers, have limited space, or want to enjoy quality speakers on a budget.

Great sound
Great sounds, a bit low in the base area but gave them to my father-in-law for use outside. They work great.

Great outdoor speaker
This was a staight replacement for an old pair that had lasted over 8 years outside in the Florida climate. The grill went rusty after 7 years but the case was still looking perfect.

Sound quality is excellent without being too hard on your wallet. I will be buying another pair of these when the climate gets to this pair in another 8 years.

Great Rear Channels
I’ve been using these as rear channel speakers in my (indoor) den, so they’re really not supposed to be cranking out much sound back there, and they do just fine in this role. I can’t comment on how well they would do as a main set of speakers. They’re a more substantial size than most speakers that are labeled as surround speakers, so they can generate a fuller range of sound. The included wall-mount brackets work great, although I’m not able to point one of them as far to the side as I would like, due to the design of the bracket. They allow maybe 45 degrees of angle to the right or 45 degrees to the left, which is probably fine for most setups. They also allow to tilt up or down a good amount. These speakers are definitely “off-white”, appearing to be about halfway between the white crown moulding and the cream-colored walls in my den, which worked out well for my wife!

Fantastic speakers!
I bought these speakers on JBL’s ebay store. They were remanufactured and I got them for a steal. I bid on my speakers and got them for under $100 for the PAIR! Installation is easy once you get the speaker cable run and they sound fantastic. I was planning on getting a powered subwoofer to run off of my harmon/kardon receiver, but I really don’t need it. They have plenty of bass response and the mids and highs are crystal clear. I especially like how you can swivel the tweeters to achieve optimum staging.

WRONG PARTS SENT
Nice speakers, but I ordered round ceiling speakers and I received square wall speakers. After several weeks and double the transactions, I’m hoping to get the correct speakers soon. These had very long, slow deliveries to begin with.

Good speakers for the price.
These speakers install sooooo easy. I bought eight of them. The sound they produce isn’t as good as I thought they would be, especially for a JBL product. For the price I can’t complain.

Crisp clear sound
I installed a pair of these in my master bathroom and the sound is incredible! I have them hooked up to my HK Receiver and the sound is crisp and the bass is solid. In my opinion, I can not imagine a better set of ceiling speakers out there. These speakers also have movable tweeter cones so you can point the highs directly where you want them to go. I highly recommend.
