CustomerReviews
Excellent lens quality but frame not at the same level
The frame assembling of this glasses is not at the same level of the lenses.
After few days of use they are not so steady as they were at the beginning and as they should be.
Anyway the overall general quality is not bad.smaller than expected
as mentioned by another reviewer, these glasses are on the small side, measuring 12cm horizontally from outer edge of one lens to the other (13.4cm along the curvature). still, they fit my face well, so from a sizing standpoint i have no complaints (other glasses tend to be too large for me). the flexible frame holds snugly to the side of my head and keeps them secure, but not so tight that they irritate the skin; another bonus is not having to worry about temple hinges wearing down or screws coming loose. as thin and light as they are, they *seem* fragile, but the construction itself seems fairly secure at what would be failure points (lens/temple and lens/nosebridge joints)stylistically i would have preferred something with a bit more rectangular lenses, but that’s just because of my face shape; likewise, i would’ve liked to find these glasses in a different color (i like serengeti’s polarmax rose lenses) but again, that’s a preference issue.
Lightweight, well built, nicely polarized, but photochromic?
Very nice sunglasses, right off the bat. The light weight makes a huge difference, as they don’t slide around your face, or become annoying when cycling. The hingeless design also helps to eliminate a problem point, all my previous glasses tend to break at the hinge. Without one? Tough to do that heh.The polarization is nice, and the neutral gray color is good for not distorting the color balance of the outside world around you, a useful thing as a photographer.
It says that they’re photochromic also (darken in the presence of UV light), but I have yet to see any evidence of that. It says it’s only 9% change in the amount of light transmitted at its darkest, which might not be much, but it should be enough to be visible. It’s not. So either they’re not photochromic at all, or its so subtle as to be unnoticeable.
Even if they’re not photochromic, they’re still an amazingly good pair of polarized sunglasses for the price. If you go through ten pairs of el cheapo $15 sunglasses a year, these are worth it.
serengeti sunglasses
Badly advertised, only one size, very small, had to give them away, will not buy serengeti’s again.Excellent Sunglasses
This is an excellent purchase. They’re really lightweight and at the same time rather strong. The polarization works very well specially for driving, and I find myself accidentally keeping them on even when the day starts to fade away, also because they’re so comfortable. This was a replacement for a pair of $200+ sunglasses (broke them) and they surpassed all my expectations. Highly recommended!
