Suresh and the Naked Chicks are a comedy-love-rock band. Make of that description what you will.
The Melbourne rock band Jet, like to boast (as if it were anything to be proud of) that they don't own any albums that were recorded after 1980. It's a pretty spurious claim from those boys, because I am pretty fucking sure they have listened to a fair bit of Is This It? from The Strokes.
Well Suresh and The Naked Chicks are the real deal. If they had been frozen in 1980, then reanimated in 2003, their record collections would be no poorer then they are today. As it happens they weren't cryogenically frozen for 23 years, but they definitely did some pretty mad drugs in that time period.
It is dubious whether or not all this comes through in their music, but it's definitely present in their lyrics, pining for a long past time when Rock and Roll was pure.
