Support local Australian music and go see any of these guys in the ACT, because it really is incredible (incredibly sad?) to note the wealth of talent in the Australian music scene that regularly gets passed over for the sheer volume of contenders.

Shane Nicholson has just released his debut solo album it's a movie. He's the former/current (not sure which) frontman for aussie alt group Pretty Violet Stain.

He's got a sort of folksy rock thing going on that's pretty neat, not unlike that of Darren Hanlon or a stripped down Alex Lloyd. Designed To Fade is the single doing the rounds at the moment.
