Steve Burns
Say hello to Steve Burns, musician, TV host and the subject of drug overdose rumours.

Those among you without day-jobs might recognise Steve from the TV show, Blues Clues. Popular with small children and unemployed students too lazy to attend their early morning university lecture (read: me and my brother), Blues Clues is the show that was produced and starred in by Burns from 1996 to 2002. Steve would go on adventures with his blue cartoon dog, named creatively, Blue, with their friends the french salt and pepper shakers. Meanwhile Steve would write clues down in his handy dandy notebook. I swear to God that your local drug fucked stoner gets more out of these shows then any 5 year old.

burns.jpg So anyway. In 2002, Steve decided that childrens TV was getting boring. Time to leave TV and become a rock star. Who better to help out then the Flaming Lips? Possibly Jesus Christ. But the Flaming Lips would be right up there.

The drummer from the lips, Steven Dozd, and long time producer of Flaming Lips albums, David Fridmann, help out here to complete the songs written by Burns. Songs For Dustmites is what it is called. Here are some tracks from it.

Yeah he looks heaps scarier when he is not trying to look like a childrens TV presenter.

That, as they say, is what I'm talking about. I'm so giddy with excitement at this sort of post that I can hardly listen to the music. :)
